NO.5 TheVampire
Paris, je t'aime (2006)
In the 2006 collection of short films, Paris, je t’aime, Olga
Kurylenko, a wickedly sexy Ukrainian brunette, plays a stock
character called The Vampire. The film as a whole is an homage to the city of
Paris that features 18 short films, each of which is based on a different
Parisian neighborhood, or arrondissement. In “Quartier de la Madeleine,”
a young and desperate tourist, played by the innocent Elijah Wood,
falls in love with The Vampire, whose penetrating stare and severe features are
pretty convincing qualities for the creature of the night she plays.
Blade II (2002)
Blade II is basically an action flick in which vampires are thrown into
the mix to spice things up. Starring Wesley Snipes
as Blade, the vampire angle is introduced when two members of The Bloodpack
fight Blade to a draw; one of the fighting vampires is Nyssa, played by the
supremely hot Chilean actress and model Leonor Varela.
No.3 Sarah Shagal
The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967)
Written and directed by Roman Polanski, The Fearless Vampire Killers
stars Polanski as well as Sharon Tate, his stunning wife who was viciously
slain by Charles Manson and his band of thugs in 1969. In 1967, however, Tate
played Sarah Shagal, a svelte young redhead who is unwittingly caught between
Count von Krolock’s house of vampires and two academics who have traveled to
Transylvania to hunt and kill vampires.
In one steamy scene, however, Sharon Tate is shown in a bath, full of youth and
innocence, bubbles and batting eyelashes. In the end, though, she turns into a
vampire and bites Polanski’s character, Alfred, thereby releasing vampires into
the world.
No.2 Elisabeth Nodosheen
Countess Dracula (1971)
In the 1971 film Countess Dracula, Ingrid Pitt plays a scantily clad
vampire who one day discovers that both her libido and her youthful looks will
be rejuvenated if she drinks the blood of young women. And since, as the movie
slogan puts it, “the more she drinks, the prettier she gets,” Pitt’s character
Elisabeth Nodosheen seduces men for their blood while her lover, Captain Dobi,
kills young girls for his fair maiden. Thankfully, Ms. Nodosheen drinks so much
blood that by the end of the film her ravishing figure is put on display in
some skimpy black lingerie.
No.1 Selene
Underworld (2003)
In the 2003 film Underworld and its 2006 sequel, Underworld:
Evolution, Kate Beckinsale
plays Selene, the leader of a group of vampires who is trying to fend off the
beast-like Lycans. Unlike the legion of vampire horror flicks, the
Underworld films are more action-fantasy than horror, and Selene is a
kick-ass do-gooder who is dressed in slick, skin-tight black. But while
protecting her army of vampires, she does manage to get laid in one of those
sterile Hollywood love scenes.
