 With the acting benchmark set so high by some of the leading ladies of Bollywood movies of the black and white era. The road to stardom for the successive generation of female actors in Bollywood has not been easy but still many have manged to make a mark for themselves in an industry which is still dominated by male-centric movies.

1. Priyanka Chopra

After a string of powerful performances, Priyanka Chopra is right there at the top. She has turned out to be the highest paid actress in Bollywood after signing opposite Ram Charan Teja for a whopping sum of 9 crore in the remake of the movie 'Zanjeer'.

Before entering the Bollywood she was a super model and got worldwide recognition after she won the Miss World title in 2000. She is often called by her nickname ‘Piggy Chops’ by her near and dear ones. She bagged the National Award for her fabulous and appreciating role in the movie ‘Fashion’ directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.
Priyanka Chopra takes home a cool Rs 6 crores. While she earns Rs 3 crores from ads, another Rs 3 crores come in from films.


 2. Kareena Kapoor
Kareena Kapoor Khan one of my favorite who is nicknamed Babo in the industry. She got Rs 8 crore for Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Heroine'. And she even gets Rs 3 crores from advertisements.

She is the daughter of Randhir Kapoor and Babita and also the younger sister of the famous actress Karishma Kapoor. Her entire family is very much involved in Bollywood from the time of her grandfather Raj Kapoor. Kareena made her debut into Bollywood from the movie ‘Refugee’ opposite Abhishek Bachchan. Though, that movie didn’t give her much recognition her later performances in some of the Blockbuster movies gave her huge name and fame and one of the movie is 'Jab We Met', its one of my favorite movie of Babo.

Though, she ruled as the top paid actress in Bollywood after signing Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’ for 8 Crore, she was over took by Priyanka after she signed ‘Zanjeer’ for 9 Crore. After her recent blockbuster releases, Kareena Kapoor has been feted as the most successful Bollywood actress.




3. Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s brand value is high despite being on a break,enjoying motherhood. She commands an impressive Rs 4 crores from endorsements alone, a major chunk of which must be coming in from cosmetic giant L'Oreal we assume.. And was paid Rs 6 crore for 'Robot' opposite Rajinikanth.

Aishwarya started her career as a model and got worldwide recognition after she won the Miss World Pageant in 1994. She started her acting career from the Tamil movie ‘Iruvar’ in the year 1997 and her first Bollywood movie was , opposite Bobby Deol, but the movie failed. Her first Bollywood success came from the movie ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ directed by Sanjay Leela Bansali opposite two top stars Salman Khan and Ajay Devagan. She is often recognized by the media as the 'Most beautiful woman in the World'.


 4. Katrina Kaif

Bollywood lucky mascot Katrina Kaif commands an impressive fat package, thanks to a long list of successful films. She earns Rs 4 crores from endorsements and from her film assignments.

She is a British Indian actress and a former model. She has appeared in Bollywood, Tollywood and Malayalam movies till now. She started her acting career through the film ‘Boom’ in the year 2003 which also stared Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Padma Lakshmi in it. She has given many hit movies till now and she charges around  4 to 5 Crore for her films. Katrina Kaif continues to be very popular with her Chikni Chameli turn in Karan Johar's Agneepath and Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan.

Bipasha Basu born 7 January 1979 nicknamed "Bips" normally signs a movie for Rs 2 to 3 crore. Known for her bold on-screen image and candid confession of her private life, she is frequently named in the media as a "sex symbol".

 She debuted in a negative role in Ajnabee (2001) which earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Her first commercial success was Raaz (2002). She was then noticed for her bold role in the erotic thriller film, Jism (2003). She starred in top grossing films like – No Entry(2005), Phir Hera Pheri, Dhoom 2 (both 2006) – her biggest commercial success till date and Race (2008).
